Cliff Coenraad Records The Sunrise Festival’s ‘Massive’ 2010 Anthem

On the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of July, the Polish city of Kołobrzeg will play host to this year’s Sunrise Festival. For three days and three nights the world’s spinning elite will descend on the seaside resort on the country’s north coast for what is now, without question, the pinnacle of the Polish electronic dance music calendar.

Very much at the centre of that action will be Cliff Coenraad – one of The Netherlands brightest nu-breed dance stars and a man who will be delivering a big 1-2-3 in support of the festival!

‘Massive’ - The Official Sunrise Theme: Back in April Cliff was offered the opportunity of producing the track that would come to encapsulate and enrapture Sunrise 2010. “When I got the call asking me to do this I felt both honoured and excited at the same time”, says Cliff - “I couldn’t wait to begin”. Grasping the task with both hands, he set about creating a track that had every element necessary to rank as a festival anthem. The result is both titularly and literally ‘Massive’. Released on the 5th of July through High Contrast, its pistoning beats, speaker-quaking bass and huge stabbed super-synths and are primed and ready to push Sunrise into supernova.

Sunrise – The Compilation Album: for his second Sunrise maneuver Cliff will be mixing one of the discs on the festival’s compilation companion. Already confirmed to be worked into the C.C. mix are ‘100’ - Nic Chagall, Rank 1 & Wippenberg all-star collabatory colossus, Phatzoo’s Remix of Dada Life’s ‘Love Vibrations, Ali Wilson’s thunderous tribal trancer ‘Pandora’, Marco V. and Benjamin Bates’ latest ‘WTNF’ and, naturally enough, Cliff’s fest-fist ‘Massive’. Dutch house merchant Hardwell will be whipping the other disc into shape and the album will be out on the 23rd of July – again thru High Contrast - and will be widely available at the event.

The Gig – Sunrise, 2010, Kołobrzeg, Poland: Back in 2007 Sunrise became recognized as a world-class electronic dance music festival, fielding a line up of DJs and acts to rival the rest of the established European events. Over the last 3 years it has continued that growth and now stands as a ‘must-play’ for the world’s very biggest DJs. Kicking off on the Friday Sunrise will once again reign supreme. Cliff Coenraad will be playing there alongside a veritable who’s who of DJs. Armin van Buuren, Sasha, Pete Tong, Markus Schulz, Laidback Luke, Joris Voorn, Dirty South, Gareth Emery, Funkagenda will jet in, make the short trip to its spectacular amphitheatre location and rock Sunrise… right the way to sunrise.
